He was discharged into the Reserves in January 1919. He married Dorothy Margaret Emerson in Drogheda in May 1955, and they lived in Richmount, Carrickboy. Arthur passed away in June 1984. |
Parents Names: | Son of John Burns and Mathilda (née Heavey), Richmount, Carrickboy (Edgeworthstown) |
Notes: | An unnamed child was born to John and Mathilda on the 27 Oct 1896 in Screeboge, and when researching Arthur, rootsireland.ie notes that he was born on the 20 Oct 1901 and baptised on the 15 Dec 1901. It is currently uncertain as to how this discrepancy arose, but it is likely that the error was in the baptism recording. |
