John married Winifred Casey of Little Water St. Longford in 1901* and their daughter Bridget Ellen** was born in June 1902. His age is given as 28 years but more than likely he was 38 as a couple matching their profile lived in Little Water St. in 1911.

John was sadly went missing in action, presumed killed, on or about the 12 May 1915 during the Second Battle of Ypres, possibly during the Battle of Frezenberg.

Parents Names: Son of Daniel Duggan
Notes: *It is likely that this is the same Daniel Duggan, son of Daniel Duggan and Mary Christy, living in Creenagh, Newtownforbes, that was baptised on the 1 March 1874 at Newtownforbes, however it does not appear that his birth was registered with the civil authorities. **Coindicentally, Bridget went on to marry a Eugene Devlin of Great Water Street, a son of Owen Devlin.
