Information: | Patrick Groghan was born in Ballymahon around October 1890. He originally enlisted in the Connaught Rangers in December 1908 at Athlone. He served in India from 1911 and in France at Rouen and Les Attaques during the Great War. He later joined the Military Provost Staff Corps (M.P.S.C.), who were the military police. He was dischaged on 20 April 1919 under Paragraph 392 (xvia) King's Regulations - surplus to military requirements, having suffered impairment since the beginning of service. |

Notes: | He had two elder brothers, Michael and James (?) and an elder sister Elizabeth, all resident in Ballymahon or Athenry (?). |
