Information:

Alfred was born on in Richardstown/Augharickard on 20 September, 1892. He moved to Canada in c.1913 and lived with his uncle Arthur Allen in Edmonton. Prior to the war he worked as a clerk.

Alfred joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on 10 February 1916 in Edmonton. He joined the 202 (Sportsmans) Battalion and was the fourth man to join that battalion. He was promoted to Acting Corporal in 1916, but returned to the rank of Private at his own request in 1917.

Alfred was killed in action in France, (Rouen area), aged 24 years.
