Information:

Patrick was born c.1895 in Dublin. Monaghan was serving with the 2nd Battalion when he died of wounds, received during shelling on the 14 August at Hooge, and was one of over 40 British casualties. Also mortally wounded earlier this day was Corporal McNally, who was also from Longford.

Parents Names: Son of Patrick of Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin and stepmother Frances Monahan, Railway Lodge, Ardnacassagh, Longford.
