Information: | John was born c.1897 in Gorey, Co. Wexford. He later resided in Edgeworthstown and enlisted in Longford Barracks. In May 1918, John was serving with the 6th Connaught Rangers, although it is possible that he had been redeployed to the 2nd Leinsters in April 1918, after the 6th had been disbanded; both battalions had been decimated during the German Spring Offensive of 1918. He went missing in action and his death was accepted as the 7 May. |
