Information:	Francis was born in Longford c.1880. He enlisted first in the militia, before joining the Royal Irish Regiment in March 1898 and served in the Boer War and with the Army Reserve from 1906 to 1914. He had two brothers, Christopher, who served in the Leinster Regiment, and Henry.
