| Information: | George was born c.1889 in Longford, the son of Benjamin Stephenson and Anne Thompson. Benjamin was a Staff Serjeant with the 6th Rifle Brigade, before becoming a farmer, but sadly died in 1895. Prior to enlisting, George was a farmer. Pte Stephenson enlisted in Longford, but was killed in action in Belgium during the Battle of Passchendaele. |
