Information: | William was born c.1871 in Dublin. By 1911 he was living in Longford. He enlisted in Mullingar in December 1915. He was working as a labourer at the time of enlistment, but he had previously been with the Royal Munster Fusiliers for 13 years. He was discharged in April 1919 and to 'Z' reserve in August 1921 (meaning that he was considered fit for futher active service if required). William married Johanna Sullivan in June 1905, seemingly in Templemore, Co. Tipperary where she was born. At the time of enlistment they had 4 children: Maggie, Mary Anne, Johanna and William. |
