| Information: | Charles was born on or around the 21 Apr 1900 near Ballymahon, Co. Longford and was the youngest of 6 children; Charles's father was listed as being a tin smith on his birth record. Charles worked as a blacksmith's assistant prior to enslisting in April 1917. However, he was discharged by September 1917 as he mis-stated his age on his attestment (was still 16 rather than 18). Charles's elder brother Thomas Robert Casey served in WW1 with the Royal Field Artillery. No more is currently known about Charles's life post-WW1 |
