Information: | An article in The Longford Leader of 4 November 1916 reads as follows: Another Young Hero. Another young and popular Longford man who has fallen wounded is Private James McNamara, of the 18th M.G.C., and we are also happy to be able to announce to his numerous friends and comrades in Longford that he is getting on satisfactorily at the Edmonton Military Hospital, London N., to which he was removed from the base in France. Private McNamara is a brother of Messers M'Namara Bros., victuallers of this town and was a young chap who was a general favourite with everybody and we are sure news of his safety will be welcomed by all who ever had the pleasure of knowing him. |
