Information: | John Olwill was born in Co. Cavan on the 5 March 1884. Prior to enlistment, he was working as a labourer. Private Olwill enlisted in the Candian OEF in July 1917: it should be noted that the Army clerks misspelled his surname as Oldwell. After WW1, John resided in New York, and was residing on 3rd Avenue, New York, in 1942, and appears to have worked as a chauffeur since the 1920s. |
