Information: Michael Ward was born 12 October 1873 in Ballinree near Edgeworthstown. Prior to emigration to North America, he was working as a farmer with his brother James, and elderly uncle Thomas. Prior to enlistment, he was working as a logger in British Columbia. Pte Ward enlisted at Harbledown in February 1916.

Notes: On his attestment form, Pte Ward gave his brother, James, as his next-of-kin. James married his wife Annie in 1905. Michael appears to have passed away in Essondale, British Columbia.
