Information: | Daniel was born in Longford on or around the 23 August 1892 in Chapel Lane. His father, also named Daniel, was a blacksmith. Daniel enlisted in Boyle in 1909, entered the war on 7th of November 1914. He was discharged on 6th of January 1916, and secured in addition to the Victory Medal and British War Medal, the 1914 Star and the Silver War Badge which was worn by soldiers on leave. During his time at the front, he was wounded in the left side, and was discharged in January 1916. Some of Daniel's brothers, including John and Charles, also served in the Great War. |
