Information: | William was born in Longford c. September 1875*, the son of William, a shoemaker, and Ellen. Pte Davis first enlisted with the Connaught Rangers Special Reserve in January 1913, and joined the Connaught Rangers proper in 1914. He entered the war in November of that year, qualifying for the 1914 Star, and served in France and Mesopotamia. |
