Information: | Herbert was born 2 October 1893 in Longford town, the son of John and Isabella Thompson, from Longford town. He studied at the Royal College of Science for Ireland, including Engineering and Electro-Technology. After university, Thompson enlisted with the Royal Engineers and served with the Chemical Section of the B.E.F. After the Great War, Herbert emigrated to Canada, and worked as a Civil Engineer; he was married to Doris Mary. |
