| Information: | William was born at Abbeyshrule on the 27 November 1883, the son of a sub-Constable in the Royal Irish Constable. His half-brother, Patrick Bannon, was a vintner in Abbeyshrule in the 1910s. L-Cpl Heffernan is noted to have been wounded in 1916. |
