Information: | Michael Rhatigan was born c.1883 in Co. Longford. Spr Rhatigan enlisted with the Royal Engineers and was at the rank of Sapper in the 1911 Census, where he was residing with a Sergeant in the RE, along with another Longford man, Spr James Brennan. |

Notes: | Although Spr Rhatigan was serving with the Royal Engineers prior to the Great War, it does not appear that he served with them during the war, possibly re-enlisting in another regiment. Unfortunately, his army record is not available to view, either by virtue of being destroyed during WW2 or he remained in the Army after 1920 and his records are maintained by the British Army. |
