Information: | John was born c.1882 near Clondra. Pte Farrell enlisted with the 5th RIR in September 1914 after the outbreak of the war, although it does not appear that he completed his service - only a section of his service record survives. Two of his brothers, George and Robert, were killed in action during the Great War. John listed George as his next-of-kin at his attestment. |
