Alice Elizabeth, known as Lillie, was born 6 June 1889 in Abbeyderg. By 1911 she appears to be living in Moyarwood, Co. Galway as a ladies companion to Susan Kilroe and Jean Margaret Clare, a mother and daughter.

Lillie went on to become a fully-trained nurse. During WW1, she was registered with the Cheshire Branch of the Red Cross, serving in a number of hospitals around Britain, including the 1st Rolvenden, Kent; 2nd Rusthall Tunbridge Wells;  Abbots Ripton Hall, Abbots Ripton ; Rosslyn Lodge, Lyndhurst Road, Hampstead; Raddon Court, Latchford (and annexe, Stockton Heath); Workington Cumberland; and finally from January 1918 the Raddon Court Hospital, Latchford, Warrington Daresbury Division. Although not included in her Red Cross index, she spent time in Belfast in 1917. She served with the Red Cross in WW1 from the 16 June 1916 to 1 May 1919.

After the war, Lillie married Thomas Holt of Edenderry, Co. Offaly in the Church of Ireland church in Moydow on the 23 October 1923. She passed away in 1971.

Lillie's sister, Pearl, was also a nurse with the Cheshire Branch of the Red Cross. Their brother, Thomas Corry Burnett, served in WW1, but was killed in action at the Battle of Messines Ridge in June 1917.

Parents Names: Daughter of Samuel Burnett and Catherine Louisa (née Corry*) of Abbeyderg, Kenagh, Co. Longford.
Notes: *Curry was given as the mother's maiden name on her birth registration. Her memorial is likely in the churchyard of the Castropetre Church, (Monasteroris), JKL Street, Edenderry.
