Information:

Evelyn Jane was born on the 19 July 1898 in Mullawornia, Ballymahon; her name was recorded as Emily Jane at the time of registration, but this appears to have been an error as she was known as Evelyn throughout her life.

During WW1, Evelyn was attached to the V.A.D. work party No. 139 in making garments for them and had been involved in collecting eggs for wounded soldiers.

Evelyn married John Plant of Barry on 30 October 1929.

Parents Names: Daughter of James McCord and Maria (née Begley) of Mullawornia, Ballymahon, Co. Longford
Notes: It is possible that her elder brother, Alexander - known as Sandy - served with the Royal Irish Fusiliers (No. 1389) before transferring to the Labour Corps (No 669733); he sadly died in a drowning accident in the Royal Canal in 1962.
