Information: | Eleanor Maria was born 27 September 1892 in Edgeworthstown, to Thomas and Elizabeth Wilson and was one of eight children; Thomas Snr was a physician in the town and a Justice of the Peace. From April 1918, Eleanor worked as a nurse in the Tooting Military Hospital (St. Benedict's) in London, before transferring to Napsbury Military Hospital in St. Albans in January 1919 where she remained until that July. Eleanor's sister, Ada, also volunteered with the V.A.D. in WW1. Their elder brother, Sjt Mj Thomas Reginald Wilson D.C.M. served with the R.A.M.C. in WW1. |
