| Information: | Francis was born c.1768, possibly in or near Newtownforbes. Francis participated in the 1798 Rebellion on the side of the joint Irish-French forces. After the rebellion, he was tried by court martial on the 22 November 1798 for going with a French corporal to Longford. He was intially sentenced to death, but this was later commuted to serving with an overseas regiment. |
