Thomas was born in March 1889 and was 29 when he was inducted in June 1918. He enlisted in New York and served at Camp Dix (now Fort Dix), New Jersey. His elder brother, Michael, served with the Irish Guards during the Great War.

Notes: Deserted Camp Dix in November 1918.
