Information:

Bernard Joseph Gordan Finnan, also known as Gordon, was born in or near Granard, c.1920. 
Gordon joined the Irish army in the late 1930s. When World War 2 broke out he was one of the five thousand who deserted to join the British forces. He joined the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) and served in the Far East.

He was accidentally killed in a motor accident, and is buried in Kirkee War Cemetery in Pune, India. 

Parents Names: Son of Bernard Finnan and Brigid (née Reilly), of Granard, Co. Longford
Notes: Some sources state he was killed in Burma, however anniversary messages by the family do state it was in India.
