Information: | Thomas gave his date of birth as both 20 June 1882 (WW1) and 1883 (WW2). He joined the US Army with the Quartermaster Corps, in 1918 and was initially based in Newport News, Virginia before serving overseas from the 15 September 1918 to 17 April 1919; he was discharged in May 1919. After the Great War, Thomas returned to New York, where by the outbreak of World War 2, he was working for the City of New York Department of Housing & Building. |
