Denis was born c. 1 February 1894. 

Denis enlisted for war service c. April 1915, and served as a driver with the Royal Field Artillery. At some point during his service, Denis contracted malaria. Denis was discharged in April 1919.

Denis's brother, Dvr William King, also served in WW1 but sadly died at home when he was on furlough. 

 

After WW1, Denis returned to Co. Longford. He married Ellen Connor on the 6 October 1941.

Denis died on the 26 March 1966 of natural causes.
