| Information: | John was born in Camagh, between the 7 December 1891 and the 1 January 1892. John emigrated to the US on the RMS Caronia, on the 13 April 1910 with his brother Patrick*, and later moved to Plumas County in California. By 1917, his was working as a lumberjack with the Sloat Lumber Company in California, where his brother James also worked. John was drafted for WW1 service, and was formally called up in April/May 1918. After WW1, John married Matha Harriet (Matie) Kiely. He moved to Portola, California, where his brother Felix lived, and ran a mercantile business there; John later worked for the Plumas Water Company. John's brothers James and Edward also served in WW1, sadly Edward was killed in action in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. |
